Check out the top comment on that video. That was me, on the toilet this morning after just waking up. I barely remember THINKING it, much less typing it out.

But GOSH DURNIT, make it happen, RCR.

Hm. Considering all the fabricating they’ve had to do so far, I would have just fashioned a bracket on the side of the trunk for the battery instead of looking for an already-level spot.

They went a bit overboard with the battery mounting. I would have gotten a marine box and just strapped/screwed it into place off to the side.

Yeah, it’s weird that he allowed himself to put it almost in the middle of the trunk. Mr. Regular doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who would let the weight of a battery dictate central placement in the interest of optimal weight distribution. Maybe it’s laziness; he does admit in the narration that the project is wearing on him.

I would definitely have tried to tuck it behind the quarter panel. It looks like you’d still need a level mounting surface for a box though, so some kind of small bracket or platform might have to be put in first.

This is actually the first thing that I haven’t liked about the build. I love how the rest of the car is coming along!
